Coffee from Panera

If you enjoy coffee and love getting stuff for free, you should check out the free coffee deal from Panera Bread Company.

I stopped by Panera because I wanted to grab a cup of coffee and knock out some work at the same time. To my surprise, I didn’t have to pay for my coffee…it was completely free! While I was ordering my coffee, there was an option to join their $8.99/month MyPanera+ Coffee Subscription. I ended up joining because they were offering 3 months for free and I couldn’t pass that deal up.

At first, I was confused because I thought the offer was too good to be true. I signed up anyway and was happy I enrolled in Panera’s program. I fired up my laptop, worked for a few hours, and enjoyed my free brew.

Why Is Panera Giving Away Coffee For Free?

Panera knows what they are doing with this promotion. Here is what happened while I was at their restaurant:

  • I tipped the staff $1 for my free cup of coffee
  • I ended up ordering something for lunch
  • I thought to myself, “I need to come here more often!”
  • I told 2 people about this awesome deal

In addition, Panera probably adds users like me to their phone/email newsletters, which will help them increase sales over time. Once the 3 months has passed, there will probably be a large number people who don’t show up at all and still pay the $9 per month.

For me, I’ll most likely get a good amount of coffee each month because I have a Panera close to my house. I also enjoy working from different places to break up the monotony in my day. Panera always has plenty of tables with a quiet atmosphere so it is a perfect place to work remotely in a public setting.

Get a Free Customizable Mug

Panera has also partnered with Shutterfly to give all of the new subscribers a free travel mug that you can customize with personal photos.

I don’t think I am going to order this because I have plenty of travel coffee mugs already, but this is a great deal for those that need another mug. I believe you are able to get the offer through an email, which will take you directly to Shutterfly’s website.

Unlimited Coffee, Iced Coffee & Tea Refills

Panera will give you the option to order coffee, iced coffee, and tea for the non-coffee drinkers.

Per the company’s website, Panera also allows for unlimited refills while you are at one of their restaurants.

Of course, they don’t want people to stay all day long drinking their coffee for free, so they do advise each customer to limit this offer to 2 hours. Here is their messaging:

How To Use MyPanera+ Coffee Subscription

When you show up to Panera, you can simply order on one of the self-service POS screens and order your coffee. Panera will allow you to choose any of the self-service coffee flavors and you can choose any size you’d like. If you want to drink your coffee there, you can choose an in-house mug, too.

MyPanera+ Free Coffee

From there you can enter your phone number and voila…your done! Panera will remove the cost for the coffee and you can grab your free brew.

If you want to leave a tip, that is an option, but not required. You can also order breakfast or lunch, but that isn’t required to get your free coffee.

When Does The Free Coffee Promo End?

Panera is offering this deal as long as you sign up by September 30, 2021.

If you were to sign up for the coffee promo on September 25th, 2021, you would still get 3 full months of free coffee (meaning the free trial would end on December 25th, 2021).

Panera vs. Starbucks

Many people might assume that they have to park their car and walk into the restaurant to order their free coffee, but this isn’t the case.

You have the option to order online and have the coffee brought out to your car if you wish to do so. This is a great option because most busy coffee chains (ahem, Starbucks) can take 10 minutes to get a simple black coffee.

After this recent experience with Panera, I realized how much I didn’t like going to Starbucks. Don’t get me wrong, Starbucks has amazing coffee. However, the price and wait times are way too high for my liking. In my opinion, the value and efficiency is what I’m looking for and Panera can give me both of those and a great tasting coffee.

If you are reading this and haven’t tried the MyPanera+ coffee subscription, give it a shot. I’m choosing Panera moving forward for sure.

I hope this article helps you discover a new alternative to Starbucks or your local coffee spot. Feel free to share this with a friend that would benefit from the MyPanera+ Coffee subscription.
